Oh, but you can up the download price by guess what: paying for a monthly subscription to get a first class ticket. For all the dependencies modded routes need, this means that downloading them can take literal DAYS. That's fine, the downloader the game comes with lists them and allows you to directly download them into the game.
#TRAINZ RAILROAD SIMULATOR 2019 MODS#
Mods for this game need TONS of dependencies to work, especially for larger things like routes. However, getting them to work is a literal nightmare. Maybe there's others out there, but most of the mods I was looking for were Thomas themed. First off, most of the mods I've found are Thomas the Tank Engine mods. modding this game is one of the worst experiences I've ever had with computers (which is saying something). Well, what about mods? There's plenty of mods out there, there's even an official site to download extra content from. (And like I said, the only reason I own this game is because it went on sale for maybe 5-6 bucks.) Now, I'd be fine with this if the base game was free, or at least only a few bucks, kinda like what War Thunder does. It literally costs WELL over 2,000 dollars to buy them all. This game has literally over one hundred DLCs to chose from, ranging everywhere from 5-6$ to literally 40 freaking dollars. What about the DLCs? Well, here's where it gets insidious.

Compared to a similarly priced game, Alien: Isolation, it's not that feature packed and not all that fun to play for very long. To start, the game itself is 40$, but only comes with one route, a handful of trains, a couple handfuls of rolling stock, a badly designed UI, and an even worse level maker. I don't wanna make any claims that the developers or company behind this game are money-hungry, but. And that's coming from somebody who got it when it was on sale for practically free. it's not at all worth all the costs you have to pay to enjoy it. There's nothing wrong with the gameplay, the game itself is fun. I really wish I could recommend this game, really I do. Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019 Game Review by Ymmit34
